About Philllippa

My first memory of dressing in girls’ clothes is when I was about 6 years old. I had a friend who lived next door who had a sister just a bit older. She had a party/dress up dress with lots of frilly petticoats and both my friend and I dressed up in it. I really enjoyed the feeling!

I have an older sister and at that time was about 11 or 12 years of age. She dressed me up in her clothes and used me as a doll. I think she liked the idea of having a sister! This only reinforced the enjoyment and found that dressing as a girl felt wonderful as well as being exciting!

Over the coming years I dressed in my sister’s clothes and sometimes those of my mother. I remember being caught on morning waking up with a pair of my mother’s stockings on my arms. The teenage years were difficult, especially as my sister had left home to get married. I began to accumulate clothing and make-up of my own!

I remember staying with my sister in a country town during school holidays with a friend and playing board games with penalties for the loser. One penalty was dressing in my sister’s clothes and another was wearing her make-up! Happened to get on a losing streak that day!

My sister and I were always close so it was always going to be her that I told of my cross-dressing. I was about 21 and staying with her again that I finally told her. She was very accepting and supportive. Not long after that I married and we had two children. I kept the dressing a secret although we did have some cross-dressing games. Not much in 5 years! We separated and divorced – the cross-dressing not an issue. It was then that I sought support from other cross-dressers in the form of the Chameleon Society of W.A.

The joy of finding people like me was immense. I could not wait for the meetings so that I could dress and be with people like me! About a year later I met my new wife and things began to get serious. I decided that I would not live my life hiding my other self from her so I revealed all to her so that she could leave if she wanted. Her response was amazing. She said she would rather have a cross-dresser than an alcohol abuser, a womaniser, a physical abuser or a drug abuser. She could also see the benefits. She would gain a girlfriend and shopping partner. She has been my biggest supporter and guided me with my dress sense and overall appearance.

This has brought me to the current day where I am a past Coordinator of the Chameleon Society as well as past Editor of the monthly newsletter. I run an internet store for cross-dressers so that everyone can get and use the products I have found help me achieve the best image I can. I am always searching for a more feminine look, without the aid of drugs or surgery. It is great to be able to be a man and then in about 1 hour look like a convincing woman.

It has been a long journey but one that finds me at peace with myself. If the resources of the Chameleon society or the other support groups around the states and stores like mine can help that journey or even shorten it for you, even better. Happy dressing!
